How we effectively celebrated last yea Vesak festival 🌝🙏👨‍👩‍👧‍👦💫

'Vesak Poya' is an important religious festival for all buddhists aaround the world in the month of May. This annual ritual celebrates the Budhdha's birth, enlightenment and ' parinirvana' and also provides an opportunity for adherents to reflect on the Budhdha's life and teaching.This is very special for Sri lankans.Every Budhdhists young and old,observe Atasil. They make colourful Vesak lanterns,buckets and decorate everywhere.As well as they involve in charity works.Food is given free at 'Dansal'.Lots of fun for the little ones these days.

Although not as festive as in previous years,we celebrated Vesak last year in a very meaningful way with the corona situation.

Why buy Veask lanterns when there are children at home🤷😱? So my brother and I made five Vesak lanterns of different colours and shapes, using bamboo bushes in our garden🌾. We hung the Vesak lanterns with beautifully finished with candles all over the house with great enthusiasm and joy❤👨‍👩‍👧‍👧. We also didn't forget to hang the buddhist flag on the mango tree in fornt of the house🇦🇩. We did not forget to send Vesak greeting cards to our friends and relations.❤❤

Also we could not go to the temple because of this pandemic situation, we did not forget to observe Atasil with our grandparents in our home.Throughout the day we listened to 'Bana' on TV.

The alms were prepared by my mother with my help.

We were happy to have the opportunity to treat adults like this❤🙏.

My grandmother's great desire was to offer a robe that we prepared with the right devotion to the temple monks. So in the evening ,we went to offer the robe we had made for about two months to the monks. We also offered an Ayurvedic drink offreing. The Venerable Thero blessed us and our hearts were filled with a lot of devotion🙏❤.
